Keep That Bathroom Renovation Looking New With These Cleaning Tips

There is nothing more satisfying than transforming your bathroom with a complete renovation, however it is essential to maintain and clean your new space to ensure it looks as new as the day it was finished. Here are our top five tips to ensure your new bathroom renovation in Perth maintains that brand new feel even years after completion.

#1 No more streaks on your bathroom mirrors

A key feature to any beautiful bathroom is its mirrors however they are easily the most difficult to maintain and keep clean as they constantly get dirty and have streaks on them. A helpful trick that can help ensure your mirrors are streak-free is the use of shaving cream! Simply squirt a small amount of shaving cream onto the mirror you are looking to clean and simply wipe away with a clean cloth or rag. It’s important to make sure you do not wash off the shaving cream because using the clean to wipe it will leave a very slim layer of shaving cream on the mirror. This layer acts as a preventative that will stop your mirror from fogging up as well as keeping it streak-free. Next time you are looking to clean your mirror try our shaving cream method, it’s unconventional but extremely effective!

#2 No more mould on your shower curtains

Shower curtains in a bathroom can be a hotspot for black mould and other dirt which makes it imperative that you keep your shower curtains clean. This is easier said than done and although you can use a washing machine to clean them, this method is typically ineffective. A trick we would recommend would be using a half cup of baking soda mixed with your laundry detergent and then combining this mixture with half a cup of white vinegar. Putting this solution into your rinse cycle will be an effective preventative to ensure your shower curtain is mould free.

#3 Remove stains from toilet bowls

Toilet bowls are a constant source of stains and are traditionally a nightmare to keep clean. A handy cleaning trick to sort out these nasty stains is simply mixing half a cup of white vinegar with a half cup of baking soda and applying it to the toilet bowl. Once this solution is on the problem areas, get your toilet brush and thoroughly clean every part of the bowl. Before you flush, let the solution rest in the bowl for 15-30 minutes before going over the bowl once again with the brush. All you have left to do now is flush and enjoy a sparkling clean toilet!

#4 Banish soap and water stains from glass shower screens

Just like mirrors, glass shower screens are a source of water stains and other dirt and if not frequently cleaned will have a build up of grime and make your beautiful bathroom look extremely messy and dirty. To alleviate this problem simply dip a cloth or rag in a black tea solution and wipe across the glass thoroughly. This method is effective because it breaks up the grime and muck making it easier to remove. Leave the black tea solution on the shower screen for only a couple of minutes before wiping it away with a clean cloth. Say goodbye to water

#5 Make your bathroom windows sparkle!

Bathroom windows are an essential feature to any beautiful bathroom renovation; however they are incredibly annoying to keep clean and maintain. A tip to solve this problem is to create a solution made up of half a cup of rubbing alcohol and half a cup of white vinegar. Once you’ve concocted this, simply spray it across all the windows in your bathroom and leave for a couple of minutes. The final step is to wipe clean with a microfibre cloth and then sit back and revel at how clean and crisp your mirrors are!
